Here is a classic Damascus chest. It was typically used in the 18th and 19th century to store valuable items such as gold coins, silver and silk. This particular chest, although fabricated in the last year, bears all the marks of the classic designs of 200 years ago. This chest is made of solid wood. Its front is inlaid with mother of pearl and metal to make the traditional designs. On either side and top there is a simple circle encompassing four mother of pearl stones. The back the inside is plain wood. The chest is a rare find and would make a great addition to a well decorated home.
